Look for Tony Stewart and Matt Kenseth to vie for the UAW-Daimler Chrysler 400 victory.
The NASCAR Nextel Cup circuit heads to Las Vegas, Nevada this weekend for the UAW-Daimler Chrysler 400. NASCAR’s top drivers have been visiting Sin City every year since 1998, when Mark Martin won the inaugural event. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway will indeed have a different feel this year as the track underwent major renovations since they last visited the 1.5-mile oval last March. The banking in the turns was previously 12 degrees; however, track officials expect the racing to improve now that the banking has been elevated to 20 degrees. The track’s facelift will vastly accelerate lap times posted by the drivers. Friday March 9- 54 NASCAR Nextel Cup teams hit the track for qualifying for the UAW Daimler Chrysler 400 at 6 PM EST.
